Shorthand keeps the meeting notes and loses the recording
An open-source desktop app that transcribes meetings locally and turns the conversation into live Obsidian notes using Claude, ChatGPT, an API, or a local model.
Field notes
Shorthand captures microphone and computer audio together, transcribes it on the computer, and sends the resulting transcript and note only to the AI connection selected by the user. Its Obsidian plugin writes into a dedicated section rather than overwriting the rest of a note. The project supports Claude Code, Codex, APIs, and local endpoints including Ollama; recording and transcription remain available without an AI connection. Windows is offered directly, while macOS and Linux builds are seeking testers.
