Terra Somnia, an atlas of the world's dreams
An interactive globe lets visitors read more than 120,000 real dream reports collected across two millennia.
Field notes
Reports are positioned at the finest location their source supports, then coarsely scattered when only state- or country-level information exists, so map points are representative rather than addresses. The archive combines research collections, public dream journals, laboratory reports, and historical books, with names redacted automatically. Theme tags use a keyword dictionary, while the constellation and similar-dream features use offline multilingual sentence embeddings. The site also warns that decade-by-decade charts describe changes in the archive’s sources, not necessarily changes in humanity’s dreams.
