Traction TH-1: a physical throttle for model railroads
A $189 handheld cab that connects to JMRI or DCC-EX over WiThrottle, replacing a phone touchscreen with a detented knob, rocker, and tactile function keys.
Field notes
The handset uses WiThrottle over a local network, discovering JMRI or DCC-EX through mDNS or accepting a manual server address. Its interface is deliberately physical: a 24-detent encoder, direction rocker, dedicated emergency-stop key, and 12 tactile keys arranged across three shift layers. The page says the 2500 mAh user-replaceable battery runs for approximately 14 hours and that two locomotives can be switched from one handset.
