The project separates material it obtains through public-records requests from its own reporting and from outside work it cross-references. Its stated request workflow records the statute, fee-waiver basis, and deadline before publication; the watchlist currently covers ALPR deployments, crime-center integration, facial-recognition procurement, and data-sharing contracts. Some entries are marked as preparing a request or monitoring, so the homepage represents an active research agenda as well as completed work.
