Purl describes a mobile sound engine built around fourteen synthesised nursery sounds rather than ordinary recorded loops. Its stated method uses a longer crossfade folded back over the loop, while plain 16-bit WAV files avoid encoder padding that can create audible ticks. The planned app also includes two-sound mixing, local recordings, background playback, and a one-minute fade-out timer; the project is identified as a one-person effort by Pedro Lopes.
