Balaganista: A Corpus of Uncoordinated Convergences
An Italian editorial corpus documenting people who independently performed the same operation in the same historical period without any known connection.
Field notes
The corpus organizes historical parallels by operation and period, including pairings such as Ramón y Cajal and Seurat from 1882–1889 and Brahms, Tolstoy, and Dickinson from 1854–1858. Its method records both accepted and rejected candidates, while four criteria are fixed before each verdict. The author also says that integral sheets are deposited with dated evidence and cryptographic fingerprints, making provenance part of the project rather than an afterthought.
