JackProbe: the wall-plate verdict
A pocket-sized network drop tester that reports whether an Ethernet jack works, where it lands, and what the network is doing.
Field notes
JackProbe combines several field checks into a single verdict: physical link, DHCP details, gateway and internet reachability, latency, and public address. It also listens for LLDP or CDP announcements to report the switch and port without querying the network. The page documents a configurable TLS handshake for reachability, separate ICMP latency reporting, 802.1X detection, and saved self-contained HTML reports with local and UTC timestamps.
