The almanac follows seasonal decisions back to their paperwork and measurement methods. Its logbook records how the site handled three narrow questions: the sequence behind a Texas dove opener, the meaning of a Nushagak sonar escapement estimate, and the limited scope of a roadside quail count. The project explicitly separates an estimate from the goal used to manage a fishery, and a route sample from a county-wide census.
