The NFC Mint Wants Every Product to Prove Itself
The NFC Mint sells NFC tags, cards, seals, and related apps that its site says can authenticate products with a single tap.
Field notes
The site describes a verification sequence built around a fresh code written by the NFC chip on each tap, with the service returning one of three plain outcomes: genuine, already used, or not one of theirs. It lists several physical formats, including washable labels and tamper-evident seals, and names aftermarket parts, compounding pharmacies, and device reprocessing as use cases. A more playful branch, StampCats, applies the same chip concept to collectible location-based passport stamps.
