OutagePredictions — Con Edison Weather Risk
An experimental seven-day forecast of weather-driven electric outage risk across New York City and Westchester County.
Field notes
The model uses hourly public forecasts from eight representative points and combines wind, rain, snowfall, and atmospheric instability into a hazard score. It then translates that score into an interruption-rate estimate for tracked customers, displaying regional rankings, uncertainty ranges, peak windows, and weather drivers. Inputs are identified as Open-Meteo forecast aggregation and National Weather Service alerts, with refreshes every five minutes; the page also links to observed Con Edison outages for comparison.
