Concrete Craftworks Treats Concrete Like Clay
A San Francisco workshop studio teaching people to make vessels, planters, tiles, stools, and other forms from lightweight, fiber-reinforced concrete.
Field notes
Concrete Craftworks presents a hand-worked, lightweight, fiber-reinforced material that can be pressed, troweled, textured, and pigmented much like clay. Pieces cure overnight rather than requiring a kiln, and the listed First Cast format uses two visits: a three-hour making session followed by finishing. The studio also describes larger cast-in-place work and mold-making instruction, while dates and pricing remain in preparation.
