Things Orchestrator
A self-hosted MCP server that lets AI clients read, add to, and update Things 3 without keeping a Mac awake.
Field notes
The project exposes eight MCP tools through a small service that can run locally, on a Tailscale-connected Linux box, or on a public HTTPS host. Its setup is pinned to release v0.9.1 and includes a doctor command reporting the MCP endpoint, tool count, and commit. The page distinguishes private and public deployment, recommends keeping the service off the public internet where possible, and explicitly identifies its Things Cloud access method as unsupported and reverse-engineered.
