Trade War Index Turns Tariffs Into a Personal Dashboard
An interactive Canada–US tariff tracker that maps affected sectors, models shopping-basket impacts, and explains where tariff costs travel through supply chains.
Field notes
The tracker builds a site-branded composite from tariff coverage, rates, affected trade value, retaliation, duration, and sector breadth, then presents the result as a 0–100 reading rather than an official statistic. Its personal layer lets a visitor select a Canadian province or US state and model a basket containing quantities and prices, with share links that preserve the selected view. Product walkthroughs include cars, refrigerators, laptops, milk, lumber, and orange juice, while linked sources include Statistics Canada, the US Census Bureau, WTO, OECD, IMF, and CBO material.
