Confcode, the conference badge that opens a room-wide chat
A rotating QR badge drops conference attendees into a shared group chat with temporary identities, stickers, and four AI guests.
Field notes
The system uses physical presence as its access control: the lanyard QR rotates, while a six-character PIN restores a participant’s session without an email account. It assigns one of 500 names—mostly Japanese nature terms paired with creatures—and provides 200 stickers for noisy conference halls. Four AI guests use distinct roles and labels, but the page says they cannot be instructed or granted moderation authority. Room messages are deleted when the room closes.
