Field notes
The MCP server gives an agent access to an Excalidraw canvas rather than returning only text: it can read, add, edit, arrange, render, and restore snapshots. The companion local app opens a library with search, history, and live reload while an agent is drawing. Scenes are saved in a local vault, defaulting to ~/Documents/sketchdex, and the page says they remain real .excalidraw files that can be edited in the official editor.
