Subfold Turns Fractals Into a Music-Reactive Instrument
A browser-based visual instrument that folds 3D fractal space to live audio and lets you explore the result in an apparently bottomless dive.
Field notes
The instrument accepts a file, microphone input, or radio stream, then routes seven frequency bands into fractal geometry and lighting. The page lists eleven fractal engines—including Mandelbulb, Mandelbox, Kleinian, and Menger—plus twenty-four palettes and eight reactive lights. It also describes HQ video export at the exact frame rate with accompanying audio. MIDI and direct DAW control are labeled as forthcoming, while the Dives section currently contains no published examples.
