Typecase turns font choice into a searchable shortlist
A browser-based font tool that previews installed fonts in your own text, remembers per-project shortlists, and finds open-licence alternatives.
Field notes
Typecase combines a local font shelf with project-specific Boards, allowing a user to preview installed faces in custom copy and retain the reason each face survived. Its browser extension is designed to inspect live page text rather than screenshots, reporting the rendering family alongside weight, size, line-height, tracking and the webfont URL. The catalogue covers about 1,600 open-licence families and ranks alternatives using both searchable categories and measured traits such as x-height, width and contrast.
