A Life Built in New York
A searchable family archive tracing 205 New York construction projects from 1948 to 1991.
Field notes
The archive converts a handwritten family record into a searchable catalogue, map and set of guided tours covering 205 projects over 44 years. Records separate identification, masonry involvement, construction scope and source material, while acknowledging what remains uncertain. The sample on 375 Pearl Street follows a 1973 project listing through the building’s later 2019–2021 recladding and reuse. Other tours group sites by chronology, Lower Manhattan geography, disappearance and architectural second acts.
