Chocolate Pi, a Stage Box With a Footswitch
A Raspberry Pi-based MIDI controller that triggers live audio and video without requiring a laptop on stage.
Field notes
The system separates controller quirks from playback logic through Adapter, Mapper, and Core layers, allowing any controller that emits standard MIDI Program Change messages to feed the mapping layer. Media lives on a USB drive and can include MP3/WAV tracks or MP4, MOV, and MPEG clips. The documented test setup uses a Raspberry Pi 2, a Behringer U-PHORIA UM2 audio interface, and an M-VAVE PD41 controller, with testing notes covering frame timing and power-loss behavior.
