Cineac: Amsterdam’s Temporary Culture House
A temporary venue in Amsterdam’s historic Cineac building, combining vintage stalls, small concerts, lectures, gatherings, and proposed community events.
Field notes
The project repurposes the former Cineac news cinema, designed by Jan Duiker in 1934, as a temporary 800 m² venue. Its initial structure combines eight sales tables for vintage and design-related goods with proposals for acoustic concerts, lectures, presentations, photoshoots, and small gatherings. The site says the programme is not yet populated and invites people to submit ideas or request space. Table participation is advertised at an introductory €250 per month, later rising to €350.
