Chachapoya Atelier: Kuélap in 3D
An interactive cultural archive that lets visitors explore Chachapoya architecture, funerary objects, ceramics, textiles, and medical artifacts.
Field notes
The project organizes Chachapoya material as explorable 3D specimens rather than a conventional article archive. Kuélap can be viewed from frontal, plan, and bird’s-eye perspectives, with day/night controls, rotation, zoom, and clickable points. Its catalogue extends beyond architecture to Karajía sarcophagi, Revash mausoleums, ritual ceramics, textiles, rock art, and a trepanated skull, while the Kuélap entry records 3,000 metres of altitude, walls up to 20 metres, and 400-plus circular structures.
