Naisho, a private nearby voice channel
An iPhone beta that lets people nearby talk through their AirPods without taking them out, using direct phone-to-phone connections.
Field notes
Naisho describes a two-phone voice link for people within range of one another, with mutual confirmation required before a conversation begins. The page names Wi‑Fi Aware, peer-to-peer Wi‑Fi, and Bluetooth as possible links and says the system uses full-duplex audio rather than push-to-talk. It also describes nearby discovery, relative-distance display when Ultra Wideband is available, and local-only friend history. The product is presented as a TestFlight beta and is not yet on the App Store.
