Neurons in Motion — Sofia Ksendzovsky
An artist’s portfolio translating fluorescence microscopy images of living neurons into resin-and-acrylic paintings.
Field notes
Each work is presented alongside the microscopy material that informed it, rather than as an unexplained abstract image. The portfolio describes stained brain tissue, neurons, astrocytes, blood vessels, and metabolic activity, then records the translation into resin and acrylic through color, density, and layered pours. Several pieces are identified by physical dimensions, including 30 × 40 inch panels and a 36 × 48 inch work. A separate in-process section indicates that the project is continuing.
