Screen Defect — a color-test detective for damaged displays
A practical diagnostic tool that helps identify screen spots, lines, dead pixels, pressure marks, bleed, tinting, and other display faults.
Field notes
The tool uses six full-screen colour fields—white, black, grey, red, green, and blue—to reveal whether a defect follows the panel, backlight, or signal path. Visitors then answer three questions about the mark’s appearance, colour dependence, and behaviour when the lid is tilted or an external monitor is connected. The accompanying entries cover concrete cases such as unglued backlight reflector dots, failed column drivers, pressure damage, and missing colour channels.
