My Street Is Loud — Car Noise in Seattle
A resident's year-long log of vehicle noise, built from daily recordings, incident counts, and downloadable Seattle data.
Field notes
The project converts one hour of daily street footage into a manually reviewed incident log, counting noise that reaches 40 dB when it is judged irritating or separately flagged by the recorder. Its visual sections compare individual days, weekends, the full logging period, and three selected loud moments. The page also links to incident-only videos and two source files, noise-data.csv and police-data.csv, while noting that recordings sometimes stop because of technical problems.
