Shortlist Gives Every Plex User a Private Recommendation Row
A self-hosted Plex utility builds personalized “Picked for You” rows from each viewer’s watch history.
Field notes
Shortlist connects to a Plex account, lets an administrator choose recipients and row recipes, then processes each person’s watch history on a schedule. It removes recommendations that are not present in the server’s library and attaches an explanation to each selected title, such as “Because you watched Heat.” The page documents eight starting templates, one-container deployment, no separate database, and a ten-minute claimed path from starting the container to the first row.
