Tapmetry organizes 23 browser tests into four hardware groups and reports that they use standard web APIs rather than an installed application. The display tools include seven-colour dead-pixel checks, near-black backlight-bleed screens, burn-in cycling, and approximate refresh-rate measurement. Audio and camera checks remain local as well: the microphone tool records ten seconds for playback, while the webcam tool exposes resolution and frame rate and can save a snapshot on the device.
