AstroDark, a campaign planner for the next clear night
AstroDark ranks 14,609 deep-sky objects against your observing site, equipment, filters, field of view, and the moon.
Field notes
AstroDark combines visibility graphs, astronomical darkness, transit times, lunar filtering, field-of-view fit, season windows, and surface-brightness scoring into a target-planning workflow. It also reads N.I.N.A. Target Scheduler databases without writing to them, preserving statuses such as new, in progress, and done. The catalog contains 14,609 objects, while a night-by-night allocator is intended to reserve broadband work for dark nights and leave narrowband targets available more broadly.
