Growing a Sri Lankan Agarwood Tree in Hokkaido
A Japanese-language cultivation log following 15 Gyrinops walla seedlings from germination toward winter survival, bonsai training, propagation, and possible botanical-garden donation.
Field notes
The project separates the seedlings into fifteen tracked individuals, labeled GW-01 through GW-15, rather than treating the planting as a single specimen. Its comparison framework covers temperature, precipitation, humidity, sunlight, soil, and winter conditions between Sri Lanka and Hokkaido. The visible record currently stops at germination: all fifteen plants are reported alive, while later observations such as true-leaf development, repotting, and acclimatization are identified as future updates.
