Slowtide, a Cymatics Archive You Can Sing Into
An interactive archive translates crop formations and ancient figures into tones, partials, and simulated Chladni plate patterns.
Field notes
Slowtide exposes the translation pipeline rather than hiding it: a selected drawing supplies a fundamental and partial stack, which then drives a modeled round plate. The interface reports symmetry, span, plate mode, and partials, with the visible range running from the first through fourteenth partial. Visitors can switch among sustain, struck, drone, sine-stack, reed, and bowed treatments, then compare the result with their own tone or microphone input.
