OpenTabs turns the new-tab page into a live tab desk
A browser extension groups your currently open tabs by site and places them above a configurable briefing assembled from feeds, markets, weather, tasks, or calendars.
Field notes
OpenTabs prepares its briefing before the user opens a new tab: the extension fetches and ranks selected sources in the background, stores the result locally, and renders that prepared answer without a network request. Its configurable groups cover RSS, Hacker News, arXiv, Reddit, X searches, markets, weather coordinates, tasks, and read-only ICS calendars. The homepage says the page is 19 KB and that its no-request behavior is enforced by the test suite.
