St. Petra’s frames stone adoption as a documented institutional process dating, by its own account, to 1974. Its current register contains nine residents with reference numbers and provenance notes, including Maximillian, a fired-clay brick whose identity is being tactfully withheld, and India, recorded as missing before recovery in 2009. A prospective adopter receives a boxed resident, an embossed serial-numbered certificate, an intake report, a care booklet, and additional paperwork described on the page.
