A planned public dataset estimating UK data-centre water demand, cooling design, and local water-resource context from planning documents.
Field notes
The proposed Index will pair each UK data-centre entry with a named planning source, a central estimate, a range, and a peak-day figure. It also plans to record cooling design and the relevant Water Resource Zone and Environment Agency catchment. Three evidence labels are described: disclosed, estimated with documented cooling, and estimated where cooling is unknown. The page says methodology review will precede publication and that operator disclosures will be marked as contributions rather than independent audits.
