OneBar returns weather, avalanche, snowpack, fire, smoke, and air-quality information by SMS or Garmin inReach.

OneBar uses short SMS commands to route requests to different backcountry data sources: WX for National Weather Service forecasts, AVY for avalanche information, SNOW for SNOTEL conditions, and FIRE for fire danger. The examples include elevation, forecast timing, danger ratings, snow depth, snow-water equivalent, wind, humidity, and recent changes. Users can send a named location or coordinates, including coordinates from a Garmin inReach, and the site says each lookup consumes one credit.
