Open Data Notes: a public scratchpad for unreliable data endpoints
A running collection of field notes on extracting data from public APIs, PDFs, spreadsheets, filings, and other sources.
Field notes
Open Data Notes groups practical observations by source and failure mode, including rate limits, pagination barriers, moved endpoints, revisions, and data hidden in PDFs or spreadsheets. Its public scratchpad mechanism accepts text through a URL at /s/<name>?text=… and makes saved entries readable at /s/<name>; the homepage says the collection is openly listed at /s/. Recent entries distinguish limits such as GitHub’s 1,000-result ceiling from PubMed’s 9,999-record boundary.
