Palettae accepts JPG, PNG, and WEBP images through upload, drag-and-drop, paste, or an image URL field. It groups colors with a median-cut method, removes near-duplicates, and reports each swatch in HEX, RGB, HSL, and percentage coverage. The page also describes point sampling for selecting a color from a specific image location. Exports include CSS variables, JSON, SVG, PNG, Adobe ASE, and a sharing card; the site says local processing is used except when its server fetches an image URL.
