The guide uses a three-part framework—archaeological evidence, Homeric literature, and later historical interpretation—to keep claims about Troy from collapsing into one story. Its stratigraphic section describes Hisarlık as roughly fifteen metres of accumulated remains and traces the sequence from early settlement evidence through Roman Ilium.
