Field notes

Whalesong Rosette maps strong spectral peaks from incoming audio to circular-plate modes based on Bessel zeros, then simulates sand collecting along the resulting nodal lines. Its source menu includes built-in calls, WAV/MP3/FLAC uploads, microphone input, archive URLs, and Orcasound hydrophones. The interface exposes six tracked modes, 5,000 simulated sand grains, drawing analysis, sonification, binaural beat options, and a 16 Hz test. Blue and fin whale calls are explicitly pitched upward because they fall below the plate's working range.
