ZoneBox Gives Mac Windows Their Own Grids
A macOS menu-bar utility for drawing numbered screen zones and snapping windows into them by dragging or keyboard shortcut.
Field notes
ZoneBox separates layout design from window placement: a user can select columns, rows, or a 2×2 arrangement, then draw custom numbered regions on each display. Placement works through Shift-dragging, right-click dragging, or Control+Option shortcuts for zones 1–9. Its workspace feature is presented as a Pro capability that records where applications belong and restores them together. The page lists version 0.4, macOS 14 or later, Apple Silicon and Intel support, and a two-Mac lifetime license.
