4D Convergence Institute Builds Mathematics by Hand
A Korean education institute develops hands-on mathematics and science learning through construction kits, classroom programs, teacher training, and exhibitions.
Field notes
The institute’s learning system joins physical kits to the material teachers need to use them: lesson plans, student worksheets, demonstration videos, and training materials. Its main 4D Frame kit uses flexible tubes and connectors, moving from flat shapes to polyhedra and trusses; larger 4D Big Blocks shift the activity to collaborative, floor-scale construction. The site traces the method to a 1993 model-making workshop and says distribution has extended to 25 countries.
