DeepRecovery: sector-by-sector file recovery for macOS

deeprecovery.app Observed source
Editorial interest 84/100 Selection signal · not a rating of the site

A macOS app that scans damaged, formatted, or deleted-storage media and reconstructs recoverable photos, videos, audio, and documents.

Landing page captured for the 2026-09-10 issue.

Field notes

DeepRecovery separates scanning from recovery: it reads the source device without writing, builds a list of candidates, and saves only selected files to a destination folder. The site describes format-aware detection rather than extension matching, with separate handling for formats including NEF, ARW, CR3, BRAW, R3D, PDF, and common video and audio containers. It also says directory remnants on FAT32 and exFAT can preserve original names, folders, and dates.
