The museum presents a chronological route from IX–XI-century early warriors through Kyivan Rus, chivalric Europe, local nobility, Cossack history, and contemporary Ukrainian defense. Its collection mixes reconstructed objects with items identified as authentic, including Cossack-era axes and a Kyivan Rus axe. The approximately one-hour visit is built around participation rather than viewing alone: the site says visitors can try on armor, shoot a bow, and encounter the material through three distinct narrators.
