myLinux puts a disposable Linux desktop inside your Mac
A QEMU-based Linux desktop for Apple-silicon Macs, combining a Qt Wayland interface with Omarchy-style keyboard controls and a persistent Debian apps disk.
Field notes
The project uses a read-only system image that is discarded at shutdown alongside a separate sparse 16 GB apps disk for the persistent environment. Its stated setup includes Debian trixie arm64, a Qt 6.11 compositor, virtio-gpu with Mesa llvmpipe, and a first-boot installation of about 1.3 GB. Profiles can contain themes, display settings, startup applications, added Debian packages, and notes, with an ini-file import/export path for another Mac.
