Field notes
Foldnote uses a file-based workflow rather than an account: the user seals a note locally, downloads the encrypted envelope, and later reopens it with the passphrase. The page gives the envelope a stated limit of 150 KB and identifies AES-256-GCM, a fresh 16-byte salt and 12-byte IV, and PBKDF2-SHA256 with 600,000 iterations. It also explicitly warns that the passphrase cannot be recovered and that the implementation has not received an independent security audit.
