The planner combines terrain-based radio analysis with aviation context rather than treating line of sight as a purely geometric calculation. Users can set separate observer and target heights, select uplink and video frequencies, and apply a 60% Fresnel-clearance threshold; the page says the lower frequency controls the worst-case zone size. Its terrain source is a 5 m DSM containing buildings and vegetation, with 4/3 Earth-radius refraction included.
