Field notes
The Athens chapter is divided into three volumes rather than presented as a conventional travel guide. One volume explains antiparochi, a post-war arrangement in which landowners exchanged development rights for shares of completed apartment buildings; another frames classical Athens through eating, drinking, shopping, performances, and festivals. The project says its library will expand with new places, stories, and formats.
