Tokenhush puts a local checkpoint between AI coding tools and model APIs
An open-source loopback gateway that redacts secrets and personal data before AI coding requests leave a machine.
Field notes
The gateway listens locally and expects an AI client to point its model API base URL at 127.0.0.1:8787. Six deterministic detectors scan complete JSON bodies, turning matches into session-scoped placeholders before forwarding; responses restore those placeholders for the client. The examples cover API keys, email addresses, credit-card numbers, and project codenames, while audit entries retain metadata such as host, status, and redaction count. The open-source core is available now; the tamper-evident Pro store remains in development.
