Aken Gives Coding Agents a Carefully Opened Window onto Production
An open-source tool that collects, redacts, encrypts, and shares selected production logs with coding agents through MCP, without handing over SSH keys.
Field notes
Aken collects a selected log slice on the server, applies redaction rules there, and waits for an operator to review the output before sharing it. The displayed example runs as an unprivileged user against nginx logs from the previous hour, then exposes the approved snapshot through read-only MCP operations including search, tail, read, and context. Consistent placeholders preserve relationships between repeated values, while a four-hour TTL limits the example’s sharing window.
