石垣村: A Sauna Made of Island Soil, Eventually
A forthcoming six-person rental stay on Ishigaki Island, centered on a single earthbag sauna and a still-undecided building.
Field notes
The planned sauna uses soil excavated from the approximately 120-tsubo site, packed into tubular bags and stacked with barbed wire before the dome is finished by hand. The accommodation will be a single private rental for up to six people, but its construction method has not been chosen. The page also distinguishes its four reference photographs from the future facility and says a fixed-location construction record will document the site from empty land through completion.
