The project organizes each edition around a central question, an opening, and a cutoff, then divides the story into chapters according to changes in the information available at the time. Its three modes move from evolving coverage to cross-front-page comparison and finally to the surrounding texture of an ordinary day, including local news, advertisements, events, and routines. The site says its summaries are original interpretations and that later explanations will be labeled separately from contemporary sources.
